Steve Corich Police Officer

Steve Corich and his gang of cops at MCC gets sued in Federal Court for civil rights violations.

City of Mesa and MCC don’t obey public record laws either

None of them respond to request for public records

Here is a copy of all of the e-mail that I have sent to government bureaucrats at the City of Mesa and at Mesa Community College.

It is interesting to see that the government rulers in Arizona routinely refuse to obey the Arizona Public Records law A.R.S. 39-121 and none of my request for public records have been answered.

Connie Gailfus of the Mesa Police Department actually responded to my request for public records. But she didn’t give me any of the data I requested for. All I asked for was the names of the Mesa Police Officers who were sent to Mesa Community College. She didn’t give me the names.

You would figure Steve Corich the Director of the Mesa Community College Police or Mesa Community College Public Service as they call it would know the law and quickly answer my request for public records. But Steve Corich didn’t even answer my e-mail. I bet as this case goes on we will see Steve Corich try to cover up all the dirty information about his dirty cops in the Mesa Community College Police Department.

I also sent a public records request per the Arizona public records law A.R.S. 39-121 to these folks at Mesa Community College

President Shouan Pan
Scott Crowley
Don Campbell
Colleen Clark
B Ronan
Linda Rosenthal
Gloria Smith
Jerry Walker
None of them bothered even to answer my e-mail, much less actually give me the public records I requested.

Last but not least I also sent a public records request per the Arizona public records law A.R.S. 39-121 to these folks on the governing board of the Maricopa Community College system.

Chancellor Rufus Glasper
That governing board runs all the community college in Maricopa County of which Mesa Community College is one of.

Like the MCC Police Chief Steve Corich and the President of Mesa Community College Shouan Pan none of the members of the governing board bothered even to answer my e-mail, much less actually give me the public records I requested.

MCC Police Chief refuses to obey Arizona Public Record Laws

But in the long run Steve Corich seems just as crooked as Captain Lynn Bray. The next day on Feb 1 I sent Steve Corich an e-mail asking him to tell me the first names of Captain Lynn Bray and Officer Turner, along with the name of the police aid who guarded. I am writing this on 28 days later on Feb 28 and as of today I still have not received an e-mail from Steve Corich telling me the name of the cops.

Under the Arizona Public Records laws in records law A.R.S. 39-121 government rulers and employees are supposed to respond to public records requests as soon as possible. I suspect it would be reasonable for him to take a couple days or even a week to respond to my public records request for the full names of the cops that arrested me. But it has been almost a month since I made my request and I will assume that Steve Corich has absolutely no intention whatsoever of obeying the Arizona Public Records laws and tell me the full names of the cops that work for him who falsely arrested me.

In the same public records request for the full names of the police officers that falsely arrested me I asked for a whole bunch of other public records. Copies of the video cameras in the library which recorded the false arrest, copies of all the radio transmission the MCC cops made which will document that the MCC cops didn’t have the “reasonable suspicion” or the “probable cause” needed to arrest me.

Steve Corich has not e-mailed me back on those requests either. I suspect that Steve Corich is a crooked cop who will destroy that data because I can use it to make him and the police officers that work for him look like the criminals they are.

Maricopa Community College District refuses to obey public record laws

Two days after I sent MCC Police Chief a public records request asking for copies of the names of the MCC cops that arrested me, the video tapes that recorded the false arrest in the library and the radio transmissions of the MCC police officers I sent the same public records request to the President of Mesa Community College, and all the board member of the Maricopa County Community College district.

The response from them has been nothing but deafening silence. Not one of these government rules in the Maricopa Community College District responded to my public records request. They didn’t even send me an e-mail back saying “F U, we are government rulers above the law who don’t have to answer your request”.

It is not surprising that these government nannies refuse to obey the public records law. It is a toothless law and even if they blatantly refuse to obey it there is no punishment.

Martin, Nick nmartin@evtrib.com a reporter with the East Valley Tribune is currently writing an article about the Arizona Public Records law for the Tribune. He asked people to write him about instances when they have been refused public records.

I wrote him and told him that I had several hundred request for public records that were not answered by the government nannies over the years. He wrote back and said that was NORMAL based on the responses he got from other people.

So it looks like MCC Police Chief Steve Corich, the President of MCC, and the board members of the Maricopa County Community College District are not any more crooked then other government nannies who openly refuse to obey the Arizona Public records law.

City of Mesa doesn’t obey public records laws either

Three cops from the City of Mesa are minor players in this lawsuit.

Since I took the 5th and refused to answer any of the questions the MCC cops asked I am guessing the called the Mesa Police to see if they could come out to MCC and strong arm me into answering question.

That illegal effort failed miserably. The Mesa cops came out and after asking me questions three or four times and having me respond that I was taking the 5th they gave up and left.

I emailed a request for public records to the City of Mesa asking for the names of the cops and all the radio transmissions and telephone calls they made.

The Mesa City Councilmen passed my request on to a cop who e-mailed me, but didn’t provide me with any of the data I requested. She just wanted to shake me down for money for printed copies of some reports.

All I wanted was the name of the 3 or so cops from the Mesa Police Department who responded to the incident. She easily could have e-mailed that to me. But she didn’t.

She also didn’t respond to my request for copies of the radio transmissions. She totally blew me off on that.

So I guess from this we can assume that most government rulers and employees consider themselves above the law when it comes to the public record laws.
